Since TLC’s Extreme Couponing show, couponing has become quite the craze over the last few years.
Whether you just want to save a few bucks here and there, or save hundreds of dollars and build a couponing empire, you need organization. You have coupons in different categories, different stores, and different dates.
If you do not get some kind of logical, organized system in place, you will unlikely stick with couponing for long.
Organization is the way to be successful and save money.
The Coupon Organizer
This makes perfect sense for the beginner. A coupon organizer is an envelope type organizer that expands like an accordion with sections for each type of product. Dairy, toiletries, beauty & health, etc. are included, and it is small enough to keep in your purse at all times. Some even hook onto your shopping cart.
The Binder
Then, for the more serious folks you have the binder. You need a sturdy binder with strong tabs that can be seen clearly. You will put all your categories on the tabs. The category will vary by person and household, but here are some ideas:
- Baby
- Beauty
- Bread
- Dairy
- Freezer
- Pets
- Refrigerator
- Soups
- Snacks
There are many more categories you can choose from. If you use a ton of coupons, it is a good idea to be more specific with your categories. That way you will not get to the store and wonder where you put that needed coupon.
You could even organize by store if that works better for you.
Wall Clip Board
Another idea if you don’t coupon a great deal is just to have a board by the door in your home. You can clip upcoming coupon purchases to the board. This way you can just grab the ones you need as you head out to the store.
There you have three different ways to organize your coupons. The best choice is based on your needs and how much you actually use coupons. Couponing has become so extreme that whole briefcase type boxes are being made for them.
You may have to experiment a little, but find a system that works for you. Happy savings!
