Back in the day, one thing I really didn’t like to do, is clipping those grocery coupons, because they looked cheap to me. And the people who would use those coupons while checkout, were the most annoying thing for me. But now I’m glad that I’m one of those people who use those grocery coupons. What did I do? I started clipping those grocery coupons.
But more than just clipping coupons, I started being a smart shopper. I started looking out for coupons, and other discounts that I can get for these daily needs. You simply can’t get a discount if you ask for it. But on the flip side, it would be rude. And to surprise you, this can be possible for you if you just buddy up with that store manager, because they have the ability get you a 15% discount at any time.
Other than just buddying up with the store manager, here are some other ways that you can be a smart shopper and never pay the price that is mentioned on that tag again:
The Internet Has All The Solutions
This is true. Many manufacturers tend to release discount coupons online that can only be used when you search for them. And since Google is our best friend, try searching for “printable grocery coupons” and it will throw up those coupons. But there will still be one issue that you will have to face, and that is expired coupons.
You see, 90% of the coupons that you find through Google, will be expired. But there is no other way that you can get those coupons. All you have to do, is keep your hopes up.
Other than searching in Google for a particular type of coupon code, you can search for different coupon websites. These websites release different coupon codes on a regular basis that you can either print, or use to order those groceries online. And since these websites are updated on a regular basis, you will be getting the latest released coupons.
So, no disappointment of finding expired coupons then, right?
Another thing you can do, is search for coupons on a particular product. This will most likely get you the coupons released by its manufacturer. And if you happen to reach the manufacturer’s website, then make sure that you sign up to their newsletter so that you will always receive updates when they release you coupons.
Those Grocery Stores That Double Your Coupons
Oh boy, these stores is classic and I wish every other store was just like them. I mean, the more coupons you have, they will just take them, and double it for you. But this will only happen on a particular day of the week, so make sure that you look out for that.
I can say that this is the most effective way to save money on groceries.
Peel Those Coupons Off
Watch out for products that have peel off coupons. Don’t tear them off. This is the reason why people love to eat pizzas, because they get new coupons every time they eat a new pizza.
Get Alerts. At Least Through Your Newspaper
There are weekly sales circulars that you get with your newspaper. You need to read those to see whether the products that you want to purchase, are on sale or not. And if it is on sale, then look for whether you have a coupon for that product or not. If you have, then you have a great chance of slashing that price further down. Combine that with the day when you those coupons multiplied, and you’ve got the best thing ever.
And if you shop from one of those big chains, you can have those sales circular on their website itself.
But one thing you need to make sure, is that you should use your coupons before they expire. Expired coupons should not be in the homes, and books of smart shoppers.
These things might seem a daunting task for you, but once you get a habit of it, these will come naturally. And if you get a little messy with those coupons, then you can divide coupons into different categories, and then clip them accordingly. And then keep those coupons in an envelope, so that the next time you go for grocery shopping, you will be a little more organized with these things.
